Fessey out of hospital Jockey Paul Fessey was released from hospital yesterday following his horrific fall at Carlisle on Friday.Fessey was unseated from John Norton`s Red River Rebel shortly after leaving the stalls in the Viacom Outdoor Classified Stakes and it was not immediately apparent if anything had gone wrong with the horse or his tack but Fessey tumbled off and landed heavily on the ground. It then emerged that Norton had voiced his concerns over the well-being of the young rider, who had slipped from the horse in the parade ring, to officials before the race although the course doctor passed Fessey fit to take part when the horses were at the start.Fessey suffered no serious injuries in the fall and a confidential report on the incident has been sent from the Carlisle stewards to the Jockey Club.
