Fitz continues over fences at Ballinrobe Last year's Galway Hurdle winner Rebel Fitz will make his second start over fences at Ballinrobe tomorrow in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase. Trained by Michael Winters, the eight-year-old was surprisingly beaten on his chasing debut at Killarney but Winters was satisfied with the way he jumped. He much prefers a decent surface but he is happy for him to find his feet over fences on slower ground. "Obviously he's not in love with deep ground but it should be loose up there so we're happy enough to run him," said Winters. "He's in grand order. We obviously wanted to win last time out in Killarney but everything else was perfect, he jumped very well which was the main thing. "They can jump a hundred fences at home but you never know how they'll do it on track but he was grand and he should have got some confidence from it. "He'll be better off on slower ground than fast ground while he gets used to fences before he gets to the top tracks. "If he runs as good as Killarney he'll take all the beating. He might head for a novice chase at Galway, we'll see, we need experience into him by October time as the ground will have gone by then." Rebel Fitz faces 12 rivals, among them Willie Mullins' Are Ya Right Chief and Eddie Harty's Fahamore.
