Fixture List set to be announced The publication of the 2011 Irish Fixture list, normally published during the busy Galway Festival week, is expected next week where a drop in meeting numbers is expected. Uncertainty over government funding has delayed this year's publication and Horse Racing Ireland chief executive Brian Kavanagh said yesterday: "We have a board meeting scheduled for Friday. The fixtures committee has completed its work and the board will be giving final approval to the list for next year. "There are no major surprises. Punchestown has already announced its dates for the Irish National Hunt Festival in May and the plan is to publish the full list early next week. "The next full board meeting will not be held until September 27 but, as that would be late in the year for publishing the fixture list, we decided to bring the final approval and publication forward." "We realised that publishing the fixtures during Galway race week was not ideal and that, whether it was good or bad news, it would get buried among all the coverage of the festival," Kavanagh said.
