Flanagan flies in to ride Wexford double Champion Chase-winner Sean Flanagan returned following a brief Australian race-riding trip this morning to complete a Wexford double today, completing the feat on Bynx (7/2) in the Ladies Day 29th August Handicap Chase. Marine Nationale’s rider had travelled to Melbourne to ride for former weigh-room friend Shane Jackson in last weekend’s Australian Grand National Hurdle, finishing fourth aboard ‘Loft’, with the expat trainer winning the race with Highland Blaze. Today Flanagan bagged Wexford winners with Ashdale Flyer and Bynx, whom he sent into a clear lead from the second-last, to score by seven lengths from Itwasfate. Bynx’s trainer Martin Hassett said “we have been holding on about going over fences with her. We were running her on the Flat and trying to get a winner for Wayne (Hassett, nephew) but just said maybe it's time to go over fences. Sean rode her the last day and just said she's awesome to jump. "She is tough and genuine and anytime you load her up coming to the races you know what you're going to get. There is around 20 in the syndicate and Jamie (Berrigan) is in charge of them. He is a bit like Bynx, as he is tough, trying to keep 20 lads happy! "We'll go to Listowel now." Quotes from Donal Murphy
