Johnny Murtagh has Champions Weekend targets for both Ladies Church and Raadobarg.

The former sprang somewhat of a surprise in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh last month and is now set to return to the Co Kildare venue, stepping up in class to the highest level for the first time.

The Group 1 Flying Five Stakes on September 11th is the immediate target for the daughter of Churchill, with further high-profiled races also possible.

"Ladies Church is on target for the Flying Five," Murtagh said.

"I brought her up for a racecourse gallop at the Curragh last week and she had a nice spin. Ben (Coen) was very happy with her and she's fresh and well.

"We have the Flying Five, the Abbaye and maybe the Breeders' Cup in mind for her.

"We thought we would give her a little bit of a break after her last run and she's developing all the time. The Flying Five was always the starting place for those three big dates towards the end of the year.

"Good ground would suit her well."

On Raadobarg, Murtagh added: "Raadobarg is ready to go for the Boomerang (at Leopardstown) but would love some rain. The more rain the better as he's a horse that really likes cut in the ground."
