Foley and Supple injury updates

Apprentice jockey Shane Foley, who received a fall from French Express before the start of the second race at Bellewstown yesterday, is today reported to have fractured both his left collarbone and right ankle in the fall.

Speaking at Tipperary today, Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Alan McGoldrick reported “Shane Foley has fractured both his left collarbone and right ankle and may be out of action for some six to eight weeks. He probably won’t need surgery on his ankle.”

Another jockey to suffer an injury is Willie Supple, who fractured his left collarbone breaking a horse this morning. Dr McGoldrick mentioned “Willie is in Tullamore Hospital and is under review now but is likely to be out of action for three weeks.”
