The always-prominent Falls Of Acharn showed good improvement to get off the mark at the third time of asking in the mile maiden for three-year-olds plus in Leopardstown.

He tracked throughout and headed Spodo Komodo just outside the final furlong. Shane drove him on and the 11/4 joint favourite kept on well to see it out by a length and a-quarter. Fixation (25/1) rattled in for second by a short head from Spodo Komodo (8/1).

He brought up a double for Shane Foley who won race two on Solomon Islands for Eric McNamara.

Jessica Harrington said: “He’s a smashing horse. I think the step back in trip helped, but he can probably go up again now,

“He’s learning all the time. He was laid-back to start with, but then he got free. Today, he did everything right which is great.

“Being one of Kate’s (Harrington), he’s obviously for sale.”
