Forgotten Rules to go hurdling Forgotten Rules will be campaigned over hurdles this season after pleasing trainer Dermot Weld in a recent schooling session. The five-year-old began his career by winner a Punchestown bumper last year but then had his sights switched to the Flat, winning the Group Two Champion Long Distance Cup at Ascot. He claimed a Group Three race at Navan on his reappearnce in May before finishing a close third in the Ascot Gold Cup, but he failed to sparkle in three subsequent runs. "Forgotten Rules schooled in the last week and he's taken to it nicely and our present thoughts are that he will appear at Leopardstown in Christmas in a maiden hurdle," Weld told The Irish Field. "He has started off very nicely, handled his preliminaries very well and I'm very pleased with the way he's jumping."
