Fowler gives clues regarding Colonel Mustard's next run Lorna Fowler hit the target with her first runner of 2022 when Naughtinesse was an emphatic winner of the bumper at Fairyhouse yesterday and is looking forward to the next outing of stable star Colonel Mustard. The Makfi gelding got his second season as a novice hurdler off to a winning start when landing a maiden at Galway in October having chased home Echoes Of Rain in a Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival on his previous appearance. Brought to Ascot last month for the Grade 2 Kennel Gate Novices' Hurdle, the chestnut gelding was no match for impressive winner Jonbon but kept on well to take second place with three quite useful performers in his wake. On future plans for the seven-year-old, Fowler said: “He's great and has come out of Ascot twenty foot tall. He will probably go to the Dublin Racing Festival or there is an option at Punchestown a week later. “We'd like to take him to Cheltenham if we can, we know it's hot racing, but we'll get to the Dublin Racing Festival if everything fits and we think it's the right thing when the time comes.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
