Full Cry (2/1) followed-up on his win at Kilbeggan on Saturday, as he took the Jerry Widger Memorial Chase under Andrew Lynch for Henry De Bromhead.

Having raced mainly in third, he was pushed along to lead two out, and he kept on well from there, going on to score by two and a half lengths. Akito finished second under Paul Townend for Shay Barry, while the 11/8 favourite Cogryhill could only manage third under Jack Kennedy for Gordon Elliott.

De Bromhead said afterwards: "I'm delighted. I took a bit of a punt running him again but he seemed in great form and it worked out.

"I hoped he'd enjoy the track and the trip, which he seemed too. I'm delighted to win for the lads (the Garristown Aintree Syndicate), but I'm especially delighted to win the race named after Jerry Widger. He was great friend of the family.

"He will have a break now. There is a 123 or less novice chase at Clonmel at the end of September, hopefully we will still qualify for it."
