Future plans in limbo for Pleascach

Jim Bolger is unsure what the future holds for his top-class filly Pleascach.

The daughter of Teofilo won the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Yorkshire Oaks as a three-year-old last season and Bolger was delighted she was kept in training at four.

However, a series of problems have kept her off the track for much of this term and while she ran a fantastic race on her belated reappearance when narrowly denied by Speedy Boarding in the Prix de l'Opera at Chantilly, the Coolcullen handler was left wondering what might have been.

"She was a small bit sore in the last week, so we decided not to go to Santa Anita (Breeders' Cup) and it hasn't been decided yet what will happen for next year," said Bolger.

"We were unlucky to miss the season with her. It was nothing major, just some small problems that kept her off the track all year.

"Had I got a run into her before Chantilly, it might have been different.

"I wouldn't like to go through next year and not be able to get to the track when we want to get to the track.

"Obviously she's a very attractive broodmare and I think there's Dubawi awaiting her.

"There's a lot to be considered and whatever Sheikh Mohammed decides is fine with me."
