Galway Girls Clash In Gowran Showpiece Laviniad and Princess Aloof, both successful on Guinness Galway Hurdle Day at last month's festival, meet tomorrow in the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park. Joseph O'Brien will partner Laviniad in the Listed contest as recent pilots Declan McDonagh and Pat Smullen have rides for their retaining stables. Laviniad is a tricky customer but O'Brien has previous experience of the mare having ridden her on three occasions in the past. The Willie Mullins trained Laviniad carries top weight in tomorrow's contest as she incurs a three pounds penalty for her Galway Listed win. Princess Aloof would appear to have no more than an outside chance of success as her adjusted rating leaves her with a stone and more to find against the principals. That said, her astute trainer landed this race in 2011 with Bible Belt. Dermot Weld has supplied the winner of this race for the last two years with Carla Bianca and Along Came Casey and has another leading contender this time with Park Express Stakes runner-up Afternoon Sunlight. The daughter of Sea The Stars has been off the track since that early season contest which would be of concern.
