Genoah lands Dundalk feature Genoah showed the benefit of a run here earlier this month to record his third win over the extended ten furlongs at Dundalk in the featured BAR 1 Betting Merry Christmas Handicap, the final Flat race of 2025 in Ireland. There were still plenty in contention as the 6/1 (from 17/2) chance was ridden to challenge over a furlong out by Leigh Roche and he kept on best to score by three-quarters of a length from Final Voyage. Quatre Bras was a further half a length back in third. Winning trainer Michael O’Callaghan said, "He's a real sort of winter horse for up here, but he has a bit of class. "He won a couple of races last year and we probably went to the well one too many times, and he just needed a freshen up. We made the decision early on to give him a proper break in the summer to get him back for here. He had a lovely run here the last day. "He is a horse with a bit of class, and he is probably good enough to win a nice race on his day, things falling right. He would stay a mile and a-half, but he has enough pace for that. "Chatting to Justin (O'Hanlon, race planner) there, we are not sure there are too many options for him. "We chanced bringing him to Lingfield last year for all-weather finals and we thought he didn't really handle that surface - different to here. "We might keep him lightly raced, keep him fresh. If there is one more race for him here between now and the end of the all-weather campaign, grand, and then maybe aim him at the Red God in August." Quotes by Michael Graham
