GERAGHTY TO BECOME ATR BRAND AMBASSADOR AND

INCREASE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE AT THE RACES TV CHANNEL AND WEBSITE

At The Races today announced that Barry Geraghty has agreed an exclusive deal with the Company to represent it as brand ambassador in the UK and Ireland. The new agreement extends Geraghty’s association with At The Races, begun in 2009, after his highly popular exclusive contributions to attheraces.com during this year’s Cheltenham Festival helped the site record a monthly audience of 1.4 million unique users (Google Analytics, March 2012). Geraghty will carry the At The Races brand with immediate effect for all rides in Ireland and from October 2012 for all rides in the UK when his deal with current sponsor Novae expires. ATR viewers will see more of Geraghty off the track via a number of guest appearances he will make for the Channel and attheraces.com users will enjoy free access to two Geraghty blogs every week during the Jumps season as well as daily contributions from the star Jockey during the Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown Festivals.

Barry Geraghty rode five winners at this year’s Cheltenham Festival to claim the Top Jockey title before going on to claim leading Jockey honours also at this year’s Aintree Festival. He has been Irish Champion Jumps Jockey twice and was voted Irish Sports Personality of the Year in 2003. The first Jockey to Nicky Henderson has won every major Jumps race in the UK - the Grand National, Champion Hurdle, Gold Cup, Champion Chase, World Hurdle and King George VI Chase.

At the peak of his powers and indisputably one of racing’s top riders, Geraghty can look forward currently to partnering a crop of exciting young jumpers in Sprinter Sacre, Bobs Worth and Simonsig as well as established stars such as Finian’s Rainbow, Riverside Theatre, Oscar Whisky and Burton Port.

Matthew Imi, Chief Executive, At The Races said, “Barry is a sportsman who is at the top of his game. As well as being media friendly, articulate and able to connect with racing fans and punters alike he also rides winners regularly in both the UK and Ireland which is important to us. We are very much looking forward to working with Barry and have no doubt that he will enjoy continued success.”

Barry Geraghty said, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my work so far with At The Races and I’m excited about the opportunity of getting further involved. ATR’s support for Irish racing in particular strikes a chord with me and I hope I can help contribute to ongoing success. After a very successful three years with Novae I'd like to thank them for their valued support.”
