Going A Worry For Le Coudray

The ground at Cheltenham is causing a worry for Le Coudray, whose target is the Cathcart Chase on Thursday week according to JP McManus's racing manager Frank Berry.

However, Christy Roche's Like-A-Butterfly, would run in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle provided that 'the word firm isn't in the going description'.

Berry said of Le Coudray, a faller at Leopardstown last time out: 'Because of the uncertainty about the ground Le Coudray is the main worry and, so far, is the only real doubt on our team. He does need cut and we will leave a decision about running as late as possible.'

'Good ground should be fine for Like-A-Butterfly. Touch wood, everything is all right so far with our likely runners including Baracouda and First Gold who will run in either the Gold Cup or the William Hill National Hunt Handicap Chase.'

Tony Martin, who will be represented by Xenophon in the Coral Eurobet Hurdle, is also planning to run Ross Moff in either the Mildmay of Flete Chase or the Grand Annual.

He said: 'If it comes up soft he'll probably run in the Grand Annual although I think he'd prefer better ground because of the slight wind problem he has. He's in very good nick.'

Noel Meade indicated on Tuesday that he is planning to run all three of his Weatherbys Champion Bumper entries ? Dizzy's Dream, Watson Lake and Zum See.

He said: 'It's looking as if all three will run. Paul [Carberry] and Norman [Williamson] are booked and we'll finalise who rides what later in the week.'
