The ground at Galway remains Good on the Flat and National Hunt tracks. The forecast is for light showers this afternoon with a risk of heavier showers tomorrow afternoon.

The seven-day Festival gets under way this evening at 5.15pm.

Among the early market moves, James Leavy's newcomer Dawn Strike has been backed from 33/1 down to 14/1 for the concluding bumper at 8.20pm. Gusty Rocky is popular for the featured Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap. The 20/1 on Pat Flynn's charge has been snapped up and he now trades as low as 11/1.

Meanwhile, Dermot Weld's Right Honourable is a drifter for the seven-furlong maiden. The son of Famous Name is even money from 8/15 for a race Weld has landed in seven of the last 10 years.
