The busy post-Christmas racing schedule kicks off with three Irish meetings this afternoon at Leopardstown, Limerick and Down Royal.

Leopardstown has so far remained reasonably dry ahead of their four-day Festival meeting and the going is currently yielding to soft on the hurdle course and yielding, good to yielding in places, on the chase course.

There was 1mm of rain overnight at the south Co. Dublin venue with the risk of scattered showers this morning and mainly dry thereafter.

There is also four days of action at Limerick where the going remains heavy following 8mm of rain since declaration time.

Approximately 2-3mm of rain is forecast for today and it will be dry thereafter.

The ground at Down Royal is described as soft, yielding to soft in places, after 8mm of rain since declarations with the risk of a further 8mm up to noon today.

The King George VI Chase is the feature race across the water at Kempton this afternoon (3.05pm) and the going there is soft, good to soft in places, with the prospect of between 2mm and 5mm of rain today.
