Another eight-race Flat card takes place at Gowran Park today and, following 5mm of rain overnight, the ground is now soft to heavy.

The forecast is for further rain this morning (3mm approx.) which is due to clear in the afternoon.

The action gets under way at 1.15pm and there is fresh ground available on the back straight and at the bends.

Thurles holds its first jumps card of the autumn on Thursday and, following 5mm of rain overnight, the ground is good. Further rain (5mm approx.) is forecast for tomorrow with raceday set to be dry.

Looking towards the Bank Holiday weekend fare, Wexford (Sunday/Monday) is soft, yielding in places with an unsettled forecast.

Galway (Saturday-Monday) is yielding to soft (National Hunt) and soft (Flat) after 6mm of rain overnight.

It's set to be mainly dry in the west Tuesday to Friday but heavy rain is predicted to move in on Saturday with the potential for up to 30mm over the weekend.

Leopardstown has its final Flat meeting of the year on Saturday and the cutaway rail will again be in use.

The ground is currently good, good to yielding in places and generally dry weather is forecast with a chance of light showers.
