Henry de Bromhead is looking to give Sizing Gold a second run over fences in the Woodlands Park 100 Club Novice Chase at Naas on January 18.

The six-year-old will step up to three miles in the Grade Two contest following his smooth success in a two and a half mile beginners chase at Navan on Sunday.

"It was a very nice performance. We were delighted with him and he's been great since," said the County Waterford trainer.

"He won't run at Christmas. There's a three-mile Grade Two novice chase at Naas, the Woodlands Park, we'll be looking at."

Sizing Gold holds an entry in the Topaz Novice Chase at Leopardstown on December 29, but with de Bromhead ruling him out of that Grade One race over three miles, the trainer is instead set to be represented by Sizing Rio.

The trainer believes the extra distance will suit Sizing Rio, who was putting in his best work at the finish when fourth to Don Cossack in the Drinmore Novice Chase over two and a half miles at Fairyhouse at the beginning of the month.

"He's in good form and we're hoping to run him in the three-mile novice chase at Leopardstown," said de Bromhead.

"He stayed on at the end the last day and hopefully three miles will suit him better."
