Carberry has endured a relatively quiet spell recently and is best priced at 7/4 (Stan James) to gain his third Championship while Townend’s treble at Naas yesterday certainly didn’t go unnoticed and he has attracted support this morning and is now best priced 5/2 (Bet365 & Paddy Power) to win his first Championship. Others seeking their first Championships are both Andrew McNamara and Davy Russell, who each recorded one winner over the weekend. With news that Ruby Walsh is to return in around a fortnight, Townend will certainly be aiming to ‘kick on’ with more winners on trainer Willie Mullins’ horses, as the Championship race gains even more heat.
