A tilt at the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood is on the agenda for Trade Storm following a highly encouraging display in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Following a successful campaign at the Dubai Carnival, the David Simcock-trained five-year-old made his domestic Group One debut and first appearance in almost three months in the Royal Ascot curtain-raiser.

Trade Storm was far from disgraced in finishing fifth behind Declaration Of War.

David Redvers, racing manager for owners Qatar Racing, believes the run will set up the entire for a big season.

Redvers said: "He was making his seasonal debut and was very big and burly, but it was a hugely exciting run.

"He ran the fastest furlong of the whole day and appears to have serious boot.

"We're very much looking forward to seeing him run again and we're looking towards the Sussex Stakes."

Qatar Racing's first of two winners at the Royal meeting was Windsor Castle scorer Extortionist, trained by rookie handler Olly Stevens.

The July Stakes at Newmarket could be his next port of call.

"We were delighted with him and he could possibly go for the July Stakes now," said Redvers.

"He has come out of the race with a sore shin, which is a problem that has been rearing its head all season with him. That is why he ran a bit disappointingly at York.

"We'll have to mind that and just take it step by step, but hopefully he'll be a horse for the July Stakes or the Gimcrack at York.

"The horse to take from the race could actually be My Catch. We'll find some nice races for him."
