Gowran On Following yesterday's news from Gowran Park that water was lodging on parts of the track and the course was unfit for racing, it came as a pleasant surprise when today's meeting got the go ahead following an inspection this morning. HRI Racing ‏@HRI_Racing tweeted: "Racing will go ahead at Gowran Park today following track inspection. Ground remains heavy." Action begins at 1.50. Patrons to Gowran are advised to please note that, due to the recent stormy conditions, internet access is not available on track. Tallow point-to-point is also on with a start time of 1.30. Cross-channel Ascot, Haydock and Lingfield stage fixtures today. They go ahead despite rain yesterday and overnight. At those venues no problems have been reported. At Ascot and Haydock the going is heavy. Meanwhile Wincanton has also got the go-ahead. The going is heavy and there is reportedly some standing water on the track. However enthusiasts will likely be pleased that the Zarkandar versus Melodic Rendezvous clash in the Kingwell Hurdle is going to go ahead. It has been said that the team there have used gazebos to cover vulnerable areas of the course for the all-hurdle card.
