Gowran passes inspection This afternoon's meeting at Gowran, featuring the Ellen Construction Thyestes Handicap Chase, has passed a 7.30am inspection. Cliff Noone, Irish Turf Club press officer, said, 'The ground is heavy, but raceable. They have had some overnight rain, but not a tremendous amount, and are happy enough with conditions.' Gowran's seven race card, due to commence at 1.05pm, will be the first meeting in Ireland since Saturday. Meanwhile there is mixed news in Britain with Warwick getting the go ahead but Fontwell is off due to waterlogging.
