Grade Two next for Plate Winner Shanahan's Turn will bid to follow in the hoofprints of his illustrious former stable companion Sizing Europe at Gowran Park next month. Shanahan's Turn was a brilliant winner of the Galway Plate at the end of July and is set to step back up in grade for the PWC Champion Chase on October 3, a race Sizing Europe won for the fourth time last season when beating Road To Riches in a thriller. Trainer Henry de Bromhead is keeping his fingers crossed the seven-year-old can find the necessary improvement to make his presence felt in the Grade Two contest. He said: "We backed off him a bit after Galway and gave him a break. He's in good form and we are aiming at the Grade Two in Gowran Park on October 3. "He's on a rating of 153 and, judging on last year, that could be about 7lb short of what will be required. "Hopefully he can bridge the gap."
