Pat Griffin and John 'Shark' Hanlon were both recorded winners at Newton Abbot this afternoon.

Griffin sent just Lisbon across from his Co Dublin base and the seven-year-old son of Cape Cross was successful in the six runner Actuate Marketing, Plymouth Handicap Chase.

Ridden by Tom Scudamore he raced mainly in second. He led from the six out and stretched clear after the next.

He never looked in trouble in the straight and came home an easy seven length victor.

Hanlon was represented by It's All An Act (5/2) here and he crashed out at the second having jumped badly right at the first and again at the second.

Lisbon was returned the 15/8 favourite having opened at 9/4 on-course.

Hanlon saddled Secret Safe (10/1) to finish second in the opener and he also had to settle for the runner-up position with Abolitionist (7/2) in the fourth.

However he had better luck with his last runner Down Time (7/1) who claimed the Thank You For 25 Wonderful Years Handicap Chase.

Settled in mid-division early he took closer order in fourth with over a circuit to race. He improved to lead after six out and blundered at the next.

He was pushed along entering the straight but kept on well for pressure to come home seven lengths to the good under Richard Johnson.
