Ground To Decide Chic Plans Chic may miss Saturday´s Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Newmarket and wait for the Sun Chariot Stakes a week later unless the ground is on the soft side. The five-year-old mare, owned by Cheveley Park Stud and trained by Sir Michael Stoute, is a general 9-1 shot for the Group One mile championship, sponsored by Barclays plc, following a return to form in her last two races.Following a poor start to the campaign she bounced back to form when becoming the first horse to complete back-to-back victories in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last month. She then looked a shade unlucky when runner-up to Attraction in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown two weeks ago.The stud´s managing director Chris Richardson said: 'It´s up in the air at the moment. Sir Michael is still away in Barbados and Mr and Mrs Thompson (owners of Cheveley Park Stud) are undecided.'A lot will depend on the ground. She needs some ease in the going. If not she will wait for the Sun Chariot.'We are taking it her race by race with her. I thought she was destined for the paddocks after she ran badly at Lingfield and again in the Sussex but then she put in a good run in the Celebration Mile and again in Ireland.'(C) PA Sport
