Hackett eyes chase campaign for Phil Progressive handicapper Phil The Flyer is set to go over fences later in the year. The Ray Hackett-trained nine-year-old claimed three successive victories over timber from August to October before finishing down the field in the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle at Naas in November. The son of Broadway Flyer has been given a break since that effort and is likely to return to action in the spring. "He is in good form and he is only after starting back," said Hackett. "We gave him a good break after Naas. I think we just went to the well once too often with him. He is a spring, summer horse. He doesn't like the deep winter ground. "I will give him another run over hurdles and see how he gets on, but the plan is for him to jump a fence this year, he is big enough anyway."
