Michael Halford has lodged an appeal against the disqualification of Port Lions at Dundalk last Friday night.

The Godolphin colt held Max Velocity at bay by a head in the At The Races Maiden run over a mile.

He edged right in the straight, however, and the stewards deemed that he had caused enough interference to reverse the placings of the first two.

Cormac Farrell's charge was awarded the race on Friday night but Halford has now decided to appeal that decision.
