Hannon readies Classic team Richard Hannon is hoping the weather will take a turn for the better so he can get some strong work into his Classic hopefuls ahead of the spring trials. The Marlborough trainer reports his Qipco 2000 Guineas hopefuls Ivawood and Estidhkaar to be in good form and he is also delighted with Tiggy Wiggy, his 1000 Guineas fancy. Hannon would like to aim July and Richmond Stakes winner Ivawood at Newbury's Greenham Stakes, Champagne Stakes scorer Estidhkaar at the Craven Stakes at Newmarket and Cheveley Park Stakes victor Tiggy Wiggy in the Fred Darling at Newbury. "Ivawood's doing very well and so is Estidhkaar. We will work them later in the week when the weather warms up ahead of their trials, and Tiggy Wiggy is in fine form," said Hannon. "We'll probably enter all of those horses in all the trials and go from there. I wouldn't want to run Ivawood if the ground was very soft at Newbury. Newbury is where we want to go with him. "Tiggy Wiggy will go to Newbury because she doesn't get a penalty and she won't mind soft ground. "Estidhkaar could go to either Newmarket or Newbury. It would be nice to keep them separate. "I'm happy with them all." Hannon also had news of last season's Craven winner Toormore, who is on target for the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May, but he may run first in the bet365 Mile at Sandown. "At the moment the plan is to go straight to the Lockinge, but I've spoken to the owners (Middleham Park Racing) and they are quite keen to go for the bet365 Mile along with Shifting Power as a prep race. It's always a nice race," he said. "Sandown's a nice track and it's a good Group Two well worth going for. We might go their first."
