Haydock Given Green Light

Racing at Haydock goes ahead after officials of the Merseyside course passed an 8am inspection.

Although temperatures reached below minus two degrees overnight, the sharp frost did not get into the ground sufficiently to put the meeting in jeopardy.

'The frost is rather superficial in that it has only got into the grass, which is very good news,' said clerk of the course Kirkland Tellright.

The going is currently good to soft, soft in places for the seven-race card, which begins at 12.45am.
