Hennessy on agenda for Pandorama

Noel Meade will campaign his unbeaten chaser Pandorama with a tilt at the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury in mind.

The seven-year-old has actually won eight of his nine starts under rules, his only defeat coming at the hands of the hugely talented Mikael D'Haguenet.

He has been sidelined by a setback since winning at Leopardstown last Christmas but Meade is hoping to see his charge return at Down Royal on November 6th before a trip to Berkshire.

"The most likely target for him is the two-and-a-half mile conditions race on the same day as the James Nicholson (JNwine.com Champion Chase) at Down Royal," Meade told At The Races.

"That would be his prep run before running in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.

"He's won three Grade Ones already and if Denman runs in the Hennessy, he's going to get in there on a very nice racing weight.

"Good novices have run in the race before, so that is more or less the plan."
