Elliott gunning for another American Grand National The American Grand National takes place at Far Hills on Saturday and Gordon Elliott has confirmed that last year's winner Zanahiyr will attempt to retain his crown. He will be joined on the journey by Western Fold who was successful in a Grade 1 novice chase at the Punchestown Festival in April. Elliott said: "We have five going over with two in the Grand National, Western Fold with Jack (Kennedy) and Zanahiyr with Danny (Gilligan). Both are in good form. "Lizzie Twigg takes on the boys in a novice hurdle. "Porcupine Bank won a maiden and novice this summer for us and he runs in a four-year-old hurdle. "San Hilario, who was placed in a lot of maiden hurdles for us, runs in a maiden hurdle on the card." Elliott also landed the American Grand National with Jury Duty in 2018.
