In the colours of the Full Of Hope Syndicate, Tassarolo made it two wins from his last three outings in the Start Your Free Month Trial At racingtv.com Handicap.

Successful over flights at Clonmel last month, the Denis Hogan-trained bay finished fourth when sent off favourite at Bellewstown on his most recent start.

Sent off an 11/2 chance this evening, the son of Farhh tracked the leaders on the outer under Joey Sheridan and improved to the front with a furlong and a half to go.

Soon ridden and tackled by Slieve Bearnagh he battled on gamely in the closing stages, ultimately getting the better of that rival by a neck.

The runner-up was returned the 10/3 favourite under Luke McAteer for David Marnane, while the fast-finishing Charlie Brow'n (33/1) was another length-and-three-quarters back.

"I really fancied him at Bellewstown but the ground was too hard, they went steady and it turned into a dash," Hogan explained.

"The boys were wondering about the ground today but I'd say the little ease was ideal, as he had his issues. The syndicate are great and Gary Curley owns our local Clough Inn, but we're missing one man John O'Shea, who passed away the day he won in Clonmel although he got us home again tonight.

"The lads have been good supporters of mine for years and have always had a horse with me, in good or bad. It is great to have a winner as they also holiday here and the horse could now go for a 0-70 handicap at Galway now."
