Hogan claims 2026 GAIN The Advantage Series title

Cloughjordan trainer Denis Hogan captured the 2026 GAIN The Advantage Series title following a dramatic final leg on Monday at Listowel.

Arriving at the Listowel Harvest Festival, Wicklow handler Peter Lawlor and Kilkenny trainer Richard Donohoe were tied at the top of the leaderboard with 12 points apiece, with Tipperary's Hogan sitting in eighth place on eight points. However, Majestic King owned by the Chomping At The Bit syndicate, took full advantage of his stall one draw to win convincingly under Daniel King. The win gave Denis Hogan an additional eight points, bringing his overall tally to 16 points to secure the crown.

Second place also went to Co Tipperary — with Andrew Slattery's Zaraahmando taking second place in the GAIN The Advantage Series Handicap race, bringing his final total to 14 points.

The six-leg industry initiative, which kicked off at Leopardstown in June and included Ballinrobe, Fairyhouse, Down Royal and Navan, concluded on Monday with the GAIN The Advantage Series Handicap at the Co Kerry festival.

By clinching the overall title, Hogan took home €5,000 worth of GAIN Equine Nutrition products.

Westmeath's Oliver Donlon, who bred Numidia, who won the Down Royal leg, was selected as the winning breeder of the draw for one tonne of GAIN feed.

The winning grooms from each race in the series, were all entered a separate draw for a €250 Mount Juliet Estate voucher, with Mel Sheridan, groom of the Listowel winner on Monday, coming out on top.
