Hold That Tiger Subject Of Major Gamble

Aidan O'Brien's main challenger for the British 2,000 Guineas, Hold That Tiger, was the target of a major market move this week.

Last season's Grand Criterium winner has been cut from 5-1 into 7-2 with most of the major firms.

Having come from last to first to win the Longchamp Group 1, the son of Storm Cat was again ridden by Kieren Fallon in the Breeders` Cup Juvenile, where he gave away a huge amount of ground at the start before making excellent late headway to take third behind Vindication.

The possibility of a Kentucky Derby challenge was on the cards but owner Michael Tabor last month indicated that Hold That Tiger would not go to Churchill Downs.

Confirming that Newmarket was the aim for colt, the owner said on Wednesday: 'Hold That Tiger is our Guineas horse at the moment. Things can always change, but I don't think this will. Everything is fine with him ? he has got good form from last year and he seems OK now.'

O`Brien, responsible for 25 of the 108 entries for the 2,000 Guineas unveiled on Wednesday, took last year`s renewal with Rock Of Gibraltar.
