Horn could have two more runs this season Owner-breeder Anthony Oppenheimer is not ruling out the possibility of Golden Horn running twice more before the end of the season. The Derby and Eclipse hero bounced back from a shock defeat in the Juddmonte International at York with victory in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday, to set up a potentially mouthwatering clash with Treve in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. However, ground conditions will be the key factor in deciding whether Golden Horn makes the trip to Paris, with the Champion Stakes at Ascot and the Breeders' Cup Turf also under consideration. Oppenheimer said: "It was quite an exciting race and he certainly keeps us occupied. I was so pleased for him and it was great to see him make amends after York. "He travelled to Ireland and back by plane for the first time and I think he rather enjoyed it. When he came home he was quite sleepy, but very happy. "The picture as I see it is there are three possible races for him and I think we have to have decent ground. We can't really give others the advantage. "We might get good ground for the Arc, or maybe at Ascot or there is Kentucky to consider. "It's possible he could run in two - why not? He is a very tough horse, but as John Gosden and I have both said, the horse will tell us what he wants to do. If he tells us he's had enough we'll stop and if he tells us he wants more we'll keep going. "The ideal scenario is we get good to firm ground at either Ascot or Longchamp as while he is a good traveller, it is a long way to go to America." Golden Horn is a general 7-1 shot for the Arc, with Treve the even-money favourite to become the first horse ever to win the Longchamp showpiece three times following a stunning display in the Prix Vermeille on Sunday. Oppenheimer was impressed with the performance, but said: " I did notice the time of Postponed's win (in the Prix Foy) was actually quicker, so I'm not sure what we can make of that. "When the ground gets very heavy at Longchamp you can get some strange results, but she (Treve) was very impressive."
