Hughes for Wolverhampton on Friday

Richard Hughes will continue his battle to be crowned champion jockey at Wolverhampton on Friday.

Hughes was initially set to miss the day's action after reaching his quota of nine meetings for a week, but he will now be allowed to compete at Dunstall Park having missed Wednesday evening's Kempton card due to travel problems.

With Wolverhampton's runners declared on Wednesday, and jockey bookings already having been made, Hughes will be relying on his agent Tony Hind to find him as many spare rides as possible.

The first mount Hind has managed to secure is Brian Meehan's Colour Scheme, who lines up in the concluding nine-furlong maiden. He replaces initial booking Shane Kelly.

Title rival Paul Hanagan, who holds a two-winner lead heading into Thursday's action, has five rides at Wolverhampton and another six at Southwell's meeting earlier in the day.
