Hughes pair step up in Ten Up Sandra Hughes is looking forward to launching a twin assault on Sunday's Ten Up Novice Chase at Navan with both Apache Jack and Thunder And Roses in contention. Apache Jack ran a tremendous race to finish third behind Very Wood, who reopposes, in last season's Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham and opened his account over fences at the second attempt at this track three weeks ago. Thunder And Roses made it fourth time lucky over the larger obstacles with a wide-margin success at Fairyhouse and Hughes is keen to see how both horses fare in this higher grade. She said: "Both horses have won their beginners (chase) and it's time to step them up now and see how they go. "I was very happy with Thunder And Roses the last day. I thought he jumped particularly well and really appreciated the step up to three miles. "Apache Jack probably hasn't been seen at his best so far this season, but he seems well at home and I think he'll step up on the better ground in the spring. "Both of them could potentially be Cheltenham-bound, so we need to get them out and see what they can do." With Gigginstown's retained jockey Bryan Cooper siding with Very Wood, Brian O'Connell takes the ride aboard Thunder And Roses.
