Hughes pleased with Tank's send-off The Tullow Tank will head off for his summer break following a narrow defeat in the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse last Sunday. The dual Grade One-winning hurdler has found the switch to the larger obstacles difficult this season, but ran easily his best race of the campaign when flying home to fill the runner-up spot behind Gilgamboa over the Easter weekend. Trainer Sandra Hughes said: " I was delighted with him. He was a bit unlucky on the day, but he ran a fantastic race. The fences are there to be jumped and his jumping let him down on the day. If you don't jump you don't win." She added: "Having said that, it's been a difficult season with him and he's had a few problems, so it was nice to see him show that spark again. "He's gone home now, so he won't run again this season. It's nice to end it on a good note."
