Hygge sends Keane home happy September’s Laytown winner Hygge (13/2) added another feather to his cap today, landing a first all-weather success in Dundalk’s concluding Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Book Now Handicap, giving jockey Colin Keane a double. Previously successful in a Flat maiden on grass and also over hurdles, four-year-old Hygge today registered a fourth career success when scoring by 2.5 lengths from Chapel Lane . Keane, earlier successful on Ocean’s Breath and trailing Billy Lee 77-93 in the jockeys’ championship, commented "the last day in Ascot, it didn't go to plan at all as Hygge boiled over and was keen. It was also a messy race, we didn't go any pace, and it turned into a sprint, so we didn't really learn anything. Gordon said to ride a race today to try to find out a bit, and see. "If you ignore that Ascot run, he has been very consistent all along. He was very good on the beach (Laytown) and this was another step up, so hopefully he can keep progressing. "He handles that surface well and could be a horse for those All-Weather Finals Days next year.” Hygge is a word in Danish and Norwegian which describes informal time together with family or close friends.
