In The Minus is now a plus for Davis

In The Minus has failed to justify support on a number of occasions in the past but the money finally proved inspired as he took division two of the Follow Limerick On Instagram Handicap.

Trained and ridden by Sean Davis, the 5/1 (available at 11/1 overnight) chance made headway between horses in the straight to lead a furlong out.

Davis kept the son of Belardo up to his work in the closing stages to beat Jasmine Affanalis by three lengths with 4/1 favourite Merchants Arch a head further back in third.

Davis said, "He didn't go around Bellewstown two runs ago but had a lovely run the last day. That latest run was against the older horses so it was a good run and to come back here tonight, I'd say the track and ground suited and he was able to do it well.

"I'd be hoping he'll be progressive and those 0-60s are a blessing to us here in Ireland."
