Paddy Twomey sent out an across-the-cards double on Friday with rapid improver Earl Of Tyrone landing the featured Martin Molony Stakes at Limerick and two-year-old filly Treasure Trove breaking her maiden at Down Royal.

It’s been another fine season so far for the Cashel handler whose tally reads 17 winners from 48 runners at a pretty awesome strike-rate of 35%.

Speaking on Racing TV at Limerick, Twomey outlined future plans for his two Friday winners as well as indicating what he has in mind for the three-day Irish Derby fixture at the Curragh next weekend.

Of Earl Of Tyrone, who had won the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Handicap at the Curragh on his previous start, Twomey said: “He’s pretty versatile and Billy (Lee) said he’ll have no problem getting two miles if I want him to, and I think any of the good big races between a mile and a half and two miles can all come into consideration for him. I’d say if he’s going to run in the Ebor (in August) that’s probably it for him until then but he’s in good form so we’ll leave that (another run beforehand) open and take it one day at a time."

Of Treasure Trove, a daughter of Siyouni, Twomey said: “We kind of set the bar high enough for her. She’s Listed-placed behind Blackbeard and Crispy Cat and six (furlongs) was probably stretching her the last day (at Naas) but the filly that won that race won the Albany. I said to Craig Bennett (owner) that we’d try that Group race and I had the race at Down Royal in mind for her at that stage. I kind of didn’t miss her, I went bang, bang, bang and I’d say the easy month was good for her and she filled up and I’d say she enjoyed today.

“The five-furlong Listed race at Tipperary on the 29th of June (Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary Stakes) could be her next race. She’s still in the Airlie Stakes but probably preference at the minute would be to stay at five."

On recent Group 3 Munster Oaks winner Rosscarbery, he added: “She’s in great form since that race. She came home, licked the pot, rode out a couple of days later and she’s pinging up the gallop so I don’t see any reason to stop with her.

"I put her in the Yorkshire Oaks and the Lancashire Oaks and things like that, but it wouldn’t be beyond the bounds of possibility that she might get a supplement for the Pretty Polly next weekend.

“We’ve four or five to run at the Curragh over Derby weekend.

“Rumbles Of Thunder (a Listed winner at Gowran last month) might run in the International Stakes, Erosandpsyche will run in the five-furlong handicap (Rockingham), Rosscarbery or ‘Coco’ (Group 2 winner La Petite Coco) might run in the Pretty Polly and French Claim could run in the Derby. It’s an exciting bunch of horses. For a small yard like mine, it’s nice to have those kind of horses."
