Injured McCullagh 'very stable' Jockey Niall McCullagh is "very stable" in intensive care after he was seriously injured when riding out on Friday morning. McCullagh, who won the Irish St Leger on Royal Diamond in 2012, suffered a collapsed lung with bruising, nine fractured ribs and a fractured collarbone in a fall on the gallops. He is in Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, in Dublin, where Irish Turf Club senior medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick paid him a visit on Saturday afternoon. "He is very stable. They are very happy with him," said Dr McGoldrick. "Obviously it's very early days, but he's stable and they are observing him to see how things go. "He is getting fantastic care in the intensive unit in Connolly. I'm very impressed with it. "He'll be in hospital for a couple of weeks and I imagine he'll be out of action for two to three months. "That would be the norm."
