Irish Ladies Chase to be staged tomorrow Leading Irish jockeys Katie Walsh, Nina Carberry and Rachael Blackmore are among some of the top riders taking part in the Today FM Fairyhouse Ladies Steeplechase on Wednesday, the first all-female chase under rules to be staged in Ireland. Two British jockeys are travelling over to take part in the 2m 5f handicap chase, experienced rider Lorna Brooke and conditional jockey Lizzie Kelly, who has had 27 wins on the track and 40 point-to-point wins. Peter Roe, Manager of Fairyhouse Racecourse said: "We're delighted to have 12 runners declared for the first all-female chase under rules to be run in Ireland. It has exceeded our expectations. We're looking forward to an exciting race with the best lady jockeys from Ireland and Britain." Admission on the day will be €6 which will all go to the Marie Keating Foundation.
