Irish interest at Ffos Las & Ayr

Ffos Las stages a seven race all flat card this afternoon with Co Galway trainer Muredach Kelly & Thurles trainer Daniel Mark Loughnane both represented.

Countess Salome and Noble Jack are Kelly's runners while Loughnane is treble handed with Just for Mary, To Pack and Monadreen Dancer.

Countess Salome looks the one with the best chance of success, as she lines up in the fourth race on the card a handicap over a mile and four.

Although she has failed to get her head in front on her ten starts to date, the daughter of Noverre performed well on her last two outings finishing fifth behind Rock On Ciara at Killarney and third behind Goldplated at Limerick.

She seems to be going in the right direction and has every chance in this open handicap.

The other with a chance is sprint handicapper Just for Mary, who is the first of the five to race, in the second contest on the card over five furlongs.

Although she has won four races in her time, she hasn't been in the winners enclosure since July 2009, all of twenty five runs back.

However, she wasn't beaten all that far on her last start at Bellewstown recently, which suggests she is still capable of winning a race of this calibre.

Meanwhile at Ayr, Gordon Elliott is represented by Cadeaux Fax, the only Irish trained horse declared on the card.

This 6yo gelding was last seen finishing over ten lengths sixth behind Follyfoot at Ballinrobe last month.

However he did win twice earlier in his career when with trainer Brian Millman at Chepstow and Kempton in 2009.

Tom Eaves takes the ride on the gelding in the colours of the Gordon Elliott Racing Club and he will have to improve on his recent efforts if he is to have a chance in this 1m 2f flat handicap.
