Irish runners abroad on Saturday It's a busy day of racing in Britain on Saturday and Irish yards will be represented at four of the tracks, including Doncaster's Flat season finale and at Aintree in the Grand Sefton Handicap Chase over the National fences. Here's a look at the Irish contenders bound for Britain on Saturday afternoon. Doncaster 11.37 - Training Series Final Apprentice Handicap — Dragon Of Malta Pat O'Donnell sends Dragon Of Malta to Doncaster for the season-ending afternoon of the Flat campaign on Town Moor. The eight-year-old has found his mojo again recently, scoring wins at Listowel's Harvest Festival on successive days in September over 7f/1m on heavy going. He was third soon after at Bellewstown off this mark and the prospect of testing conditions in this opening apprentice handicap should suit. Doncaster 1.25 - Supports Safe Gambling Wentworth Stakes (Listed) — Navassa Island Michael O'Callaghan has secured the services of Colin Keane as his filly Navassa Island makes her latest attempt at grabbing a Black Type win. She's been second to Carla Ridge at the Curragh and Spycatcher in a Group 3 at Chantilly in her last two starts. She has plenty of ground to find with Karl Burke's filly now, but conditions are favourable again for the sprinter. Doncaster 3.10 - Irish EBF Gillies Fillies' Stakes (Fillies' And Mares' Listed) — Akecheta Trainer Kevin Coleman is an infrequent UK raider, but he'll be hoping Akecheta can run well in this Listed contest over a 1m2f. She has some decent form in handicaps at the trip and ran fourth in this grade over a mile at Naas last month on her first try when upped in class. Aintree 2.40 - William Hill Grand Sefton Handicap Chase — Seddon The big race of the day is at Aintree, where the famous National Fences are in play for the first time this season in the Grand Sefton. John McConnell sends his veteran Seddon for a first look at the famous Merseyside obstacles. The versatile sort has won on the Flat as well as all three disciplines in National Hunt action. He has been out of sorts recently and doesn't appear well-handicapped, but perhaps the spruce-topped fences will perk him up. Kelso 10.45 - Start Your RacingTV Free Trial Now Novices' Hurdle — Walks The Talk Alarm bells at the ready as Kelso's meeting gets underway at 10.45am, with McConnell represented here by Walks The Talk in the opening Novices' Hurdle. The trainer will have time to be at the Borders venue and make his way to Aintree for the Grand Sefton, should he so desire! This mare made a winning start over hurdles at Roscommon in September over 2m4f and steps up in trip here, getting 7lb from the other hurdles winner, Scarlet Jet, with JJ Slevin in town to ride. Kelso 1.17 - Belhaven Brewery Wishing Well Handicap Chase - Al Kalila Slevin will also be the man on board Al Kalila in his role as retained rider for Isaac Souede and Simon Munir for trainer Stuart Crawford, later in the Class 3 handicap chase over just shy of three miles. The Soldier Of Fortune gelding has been off since running fourth in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle Series Final at Fairyhouse in April. He returns to commence his career over fences and it's worth noting he defied a break to win over timber at Ayr in January. He could make an impact and should be well-schooled. Wincanton 2.23 - Boodles Rising Stars Novices' Chase (Grade 2) — Cobra Queen A big afternoon at Wincanton as their season belatedly begins with a card that includes the Elite Hurdle and the 64th Badger Beers Handicap Chase, but Henry de Bromhead will be hoping Cobra Queen can do some damage in the Rising Stars Novices' Chase under James Bowen. The Milan mare is progressive over fences, now 2-4 in this sphere after wins at Tramore (2m6f, good) and Roscommon (2m5 1/2f, good to yielding) this autumn with plenty in hand. She may need to progress further to take the measure of Blueking d'Oroux for Paul Nicholls, but he was turned over at odds of 2/9 in last month's chasing debut at Newton Abbot and the Irish raider is a danger now.
