Irish runners abroad: Group 1s in the UK and France to the Grade 1 Oaks in New York While it is an exciting weekend in Ireland with Bellewstown and Naas on Saturday, there are also plenty of Irish runners competing abroad. Here is your run-through guide to each and every one of them. Coral Eclipse, Sandown Starting off at Sandown on Saturday at 3.35pm, we have the Group 1 Coral Eclipse. At the head of the betting is French Derby winner Constitution River, who will be ridden by Ryan Moore. Aidan O'Brien has three runners in the race: Constitution River, Hawk Mountain, and Flushing Meadows. Hawk Mountain is a Group 1 winner at two and was second in the French Derby behind Constitution River. Aidan O'Brien's son, Donnacha O'Brien, also has his horse, A Boy Named Susie, declared for the Group 1 event at Sandown. It looks a fascinating race on paper, with the likes of Gethin for Owen Burrows, but one would like to think that if Constitution River can reproduce his French Derby form, he should be able to add another Group 1 to his already impressive CV Lancashire Oaks, Newmarket At Newmarket on Saturday at 2.40pm, we see the Noel Meade-trained Caught U Sleeping lining up in the Betway Lancashire Oaks, a Group 2 contest for fillies and mares. Caught U Sleeping has been very impressive this season, winning an Oaks Trial at Naas before being narrowly denied by the promising Rebel Moon at Naas on her latest start in a Group race for fillies. It will be interesting to see if she can improve again against older horses, especially as she receives plenty of weight. On ratings, she looks to have a definite chance. Belmont Oaks, Belmont Park Our attention then turns to Saturday night with a trip to the United States for the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks. Donnacha O'Brien saddles Kensington Lane, a daughter of Starspangledbanner, who was very impressive when winning at the Curragh earlier this season before finishing a good fifth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. It is interesting to see that, since being purchased by new U.S. owners, they have opted to target a race like this. She looks to have a massive chance, as she is a high-class filly. Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, Saint Cloud Looking ahead to Sunday in France, it is the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Eight runners are set to go to post, with Aidan O'Brien and Coolmore represented by last year's Epsom and Irish Derby winner, Lambourn. He returned this season with victory at Chester before finishing third in the Group 1 Coronation Cup. Lambourn unfortunately disappointed at Ascot, but it will be interesting to see whether a return to France can spark him back to his best. He is set to renew rivalry with the likes of Calandagan, who will also be looking to get his season back on track.
