Iron Sword eases to Listowel finale success The Andy Slattery-trained Iron Sword (4/6) was an impressive winner of the Listowel Printing Works Sean Ahearn Flat Race for jockey Adam Ryan. The son of For Fun got off the mark in Ballinrobe on September 11th and backed that up with an impressive display in Listowel today, running out a comfortable three-and-a-half-length winner. Speaking after the race, Willie Slattery said: “The horses are going great, thank God, and we like this horse. “We thought he'd win at the Punchestown Festival on his debut run so were disappointed, although he got a bit excited and ran too keen. He then got wiped out at Roscommon, where he'd have won, and then won the last day. “He will go eating grass now as he's had four runs as a four-year-old, and won't be seen until next spring.” (Quotes from Tom Weekes)
