Jacob aims for Stephen's Day return Daryl Jacob is hoping to be back in action on St Stephen's Day after being hurt in a schooling fall at Nicky Henderson's stable in Lambourn on Friday morning. The jump jockey bruised his ribs and wrist and was taken to hospital to be checked out. Jacob was taken off his rides at Ascot on Friday and Saturday and will not ride in the early part of next week, before racing's three-day festive break. That gives him a week to be fit enough to be back in the saddle on December 26, when there are seven meetings topped by Kempton's showpiece card featuring the William Hill King George VI Chase. "I've spoken to Daryl and he's going to take a few days off," said his agent Chris Broad. "He bruised his ribs and his wrist. He's just sore all over, so he's hopefully going to be back on Boxing Day. That's the plan. "He's just getting everything strapped up. He just went to hospital to make sure there was nothing broken or anything. He's just sore and bruised. "He's not going to ride tomorrow after his fall and he won't ride on Monday or Tuesday. He'll have three days after that for all to be good again and hopefully he'll be back for Boxing Day."
