Jamie Moore breaks leg at Towcester Joshua Moore is set to come in for the ride on Sire De Grugy after brother Jamie suffered a broken leg in a fall at Towcester on Wednesday. Jamie was due to partner the Laura Young-trained Kap West in the Haygain Hay Steamers Clean Healthy Forage Handicap Chase, but his mount fell on the walkway that leads to the track. Moore was taken to hospital where his injuries were confirmed. His father Gary Moore, trainer of Sire De Grugy, said: "He's broken his leg and I'm not sure how it happened. It was just one of those crazy things and I feel so sorry for him. "He had Sire De Grugy to look forward to, as well as Al Co in the Grand National, so it's really disappointing for him." Sire De Grugy will be entered for next week's Melling Chase at Aintree, with the Celebration Chase at Sandown on the final day of the National Hunt season also under serious consideration. Moore snr will have no hesitation in handing the mount to his youngest son. "It's a no-brainer. Joshua will ride him," said the trainer. "We'll enter him for Aintree, see what the ground is like and what the race looks like. "There's also the Celebration Chase at Sandown and I know the owners are keen to do the two, so we'll see." Despite being at Towcester, Young missed the incident. She said: " Someone has just rung me now and told me Jamie has broke his leg, which is awful for him with Aintree coming up. "I wasn't actually close by at the time but I gather the horse got caught up in a bit of traffic and just got a bit excited. My husband said the horse took a few backwards steps, Jamie fell off the side and half landed on his feet. "It wasn't a bad fall, but he must have fallen awkwardly as he was immediately in pain. "They iced the leg and took him to hospital as a precaution, but it's obviously worse than maybe they first thought."
